About QuantSCM
I started as a Chemical Engineering graduate and entered supply chain management in 2014. Throughout the years working in the field: I quickly realized that effective supply chain management requires mastering two distinct worlds: the Engineering side (mathematics, data, optimization, prediction) and the Human side (stakeholder management, change management, learning and development).
In my observation of the Vietnamese market, many practitioners lack formal training in engineering or mathematical theory, relying heavily on soft skills and intuition to put out fires. Conversely, academics often focus entirely on models—from foundational formulas like EOQ and Safety Stock to advanced algorithms like Dynamic Programming—while overlooking the messy reality of organizational behavior.
I believe this dichotomy is false. You cannot separate the system from the people who run it. A statistically perfect forecast is useless if the sales team doesn't trust it, and a motivated warehouse team cannot succeed if their inventory processes are mathematically flawed. The goal of QuantSCM is to explore and disseminate supply chain management practice that respect the two complementary sides of supply chain management. My goal is to help businesses move beyond 'survival mode'—where they are just reacting to problems—and into a state of strategic control, where data empowers people to make better decisions, faster.
I want to contribute towards a state of harmony where technology amplifies human potential rather than diminishing it.
